After gaining my qualifications at the Nantwich School of Beauty Therapy in Cheshire in 1990 and at the Yorkshire College of Beauty Therapy in Leeds in 1992 (CIBTAC AND ITEC)  I became a member of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC). My special interest lay in massage therapy.

Having owned my own beauty therapy and electrolysis clinic, in 2001 my career took me to the NHS where I spent the next 16 years gaining experience in both primary and secondary care.  I also successfully completed a First Class Honours Degree in Business and Management at Hull University, whilst working my way to becoming a Practice Manager joining several GP surgeries in the area.

Seeking new challenges, I joined the Cancer Services team at the York NHS Foundation Trust in 2014, leading the Cancer Quality peer review across the Trust for all 25 cancer teams.

Although I was working full time, I really missed the client/therapist relationship and being able to make people feel better, so in 2015 I joined the team at Body Concepts in Scalby on a part-time basis where I refreshed all my skills and built up my own client list. My interest in massage developed and it soon became clear that massage was where my passion lay, particularly for the alleviation of back and shoulder pain.

My interest in developing a sports and remedial massage practice of my own became so strong that I decided to jump right back into study. I completed several courses at York Holistic Training before completing my studies at thte Active Health Group in Manchester.    I am a Member of the Sports Massage Association (SMA).  As sports massage therapy is a vast subject, I have committed to being on a continuing programme of professional development ensuring that I provide the best and most appropriate treatments for my clients. I feel passionately about helping people to feel better, reduce any pain and discomfort they may have, whilst improving mobility and flexibility whether this  be to improve day to day functioning or improve performance with sporting hobbies and activities.

As I am a keen cyclist and an enthusiastic Crossfitter I know how frustrating it can be if aches and pains persist and begin to affect your performance and overall enjoyment of your sporting activity.

I conduct clinics from a treatment room within my home in East Ayton and am available for day time, evening and weekend appointments.
