BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS 

Cancellation Policy

IIn order to book your appointment on-line I require your card details.  Your card details are securely held by my booking system and my online payment processor (Square). Your card details are not viewable by anyone else.

Your card will not be charged at the time of booking, unless you have chosen the option to pay in advance of your treatment.  However it will be charged in the event of a no-show or late cancellation.

Cancellations 48-24 hours of your appointment start time, will be charged at 50% of the total appointment cost. Cancellations within 24 hours (or no shows) will be charged at 100% of the total appointment cost.

These cancellation terms also apply if you wish to cancel and reschedule your appointment, as less than 48 hours notice will not leave me sufficient time to fill the appointment space.

Appointment reminders will be sent 72 hours before your appointment so please contact me as early as possible to avoid your card being charged.

Please remember to let me know if you are running late for your appointment.  I can usually allow for a few minutes however, I may have clients after your appointment.  So if you are more than 10 minutes late, I may cancel your appointment and apply the above terms as a no show.

Please note that I am not able to use your shared card details to take payment for your treatment on the day.  I will only use them in the case of a last minute cancellation or a no show.

 

If the reason for changing or cancelling your appointment is due to exceptional or unforeseen circumstances (including developing symptoms of COVID-19) then I may waive any fees.

Making Payment

 

Payment can be made on the day via cash or card payment (contactless up to £100).  Payment can also be made in full in advance of your treatment via your on-line booking or by bank transfer.  Sales receipts and invoices are available upon request.

Gift Vouchers

 

Gift vouchers are available to purchase either on line through this website or in person.   They are valid and redeemable within the dates specified on each individual voucher. Vouchers redeemed outside of these dates will not be accepted.  

Late Arrivals

Please try to arrive on time for your appointment or notify us if you are running late. If you do arrive then we will complete the session in the remaining time.

Inappropriate Behavior

 

Alyson Ritchie - Sports Massage Therapy, has a zero tolerance policy to inappropriate behaviour. We reserve the right to terminate a treatment with immediate effect and without refund if the client demonstrates behaviour including but not limited to: intimidation, verbal aggression, physical violence, evidence of intoxication or sexual behaviour.

PREPARING FOR YOUR TREATMENT

 

Temperature

We use an electric blanket during colder months to keep you nice and cosy during your massage. If you would prefer not to have this feature just let us know.  Infra red heat therapy may also be used during your treatment as appropriate.

What to wear

We advise wearing something comfortable and easy to undress/dress from. Lounge wear or loose gym clothes work well. Underwear such as briefs, boxers or knickers should be worn as a matter of hygiene and policy.

Hydration

Hydration is very important following a massage so drink plenty of water and/or herbal tea. If you are visiting us for a massage, please bring a bottle of water to your appointment. Good hydration will help aid in the recovery of tissues, especially following any deeper work. 

Ambiance

We play a variety of playlists during your treatment and try our best to fit the music to the client and the treatment being performed.  This is an aspect we pride ourselves on especially as the client/therapist relationship grows.  But if you would like to play your own music or prefer silence then that is no problem, just let us know at the beginning of your session.
